Denzil is a small village nestled in a valley in west central Saskatchewan – the Land of Living Skies – where spectacular sunsets, northern lights and migrating birds are common sights.
Agriculture and oil are the backbone of this area. Denzil is a neat and tidy village with gravel streets, many trees and flowers and businesses located in close proximity to houses. A modern church with stained glass windows overlooks the village. Two community halls, a museum, skating rink, curling rink, fitness centre, transfer station, water treatment plant, water storage tank for fire emergencies, campground, a basketball court and a playground are some of the amenities in our village.
Denzil has a village office, several businesses, and many organizations including a recreation board, seniors’ club, Catholic Women’s League, Knights of Columbus, and Communities in Bloom.
Volunteerism and community spirit are important here. We have recreational events such as curling bonspiels, dances, a bunnock tournament and every June we have a fun weekend, called community days, and this year it will include a new event, a tractor pull.
