The economically diverse Municipality of Lambton Shores occupies 82,039 acres (332 square-kilometres) in northeast Lambton County, along the shores of Lake Huron. Tourism, agriculture and manufacturing are the leading drivers of the economy. With population of 10,656 Lambton Shores encompasses the communities of Arkona, Bosanquet, Forest, Grand Bend, Port Franks and Thedford. With its sandy beaches on Lake Huron, the Oak Savanna Forest of the Pinery Provincial Park, and scenic waterfalls at Rock Glen, Lambton Shores is a picturesque community that draws many tourists. The community of Forest is a major service centre for the surrounding community, as well as a central commercial area and home to a cluster of industrial manufacturing companies. In the north, agriculture and tourism are the focus of economic activity. The rich soil near Grand Bend, Bosanquet and Thedford grow specialty crops such as potatoes, celery, and cooking onions as well as traditional field crops. The acclaimed beaches and sunsets of Grand Bend anchor an active tourism industry with numerous lifestyle and employment opportunities.
